Value & support in our industry and communities

Giving back to our local community is very important to all of us here at RTT. Our Head Office team is immersed in a range of initiatives, and we support the work our contractors do as part of their social value commitments too.

RTT Social Value Work

Our dedicated Social Value steering group is instrumental in the work RTT does to give back to local communities and local areas.

  • Over the years we have donated a large number of christmas presents to KIDSOUT charity, which supports vulnerable children, having raised hundreds of pounds through our Christmas jumper days, staff donations, and company-matched fundraising.
  • We have also supported local charities with their Easter Egg Appeals. Staff, customers, and suppliers donate hundreds of Easter eggs.
  • We host food bank drives to support our local communities.
  • We support staff members’ own fundraising through company donations, promoting activities internally, posting support on LinkedIn and more.
  • RTT currently sponsors two local youth football teams.

Support to the areas we work in

On a project-level basis, we work with main contractors and our supply chain to contribute time and resources to their giving back social value commitments.

This includes schemes such as planting flowers in town centres, painting local nurseries, and giving talks to local colleges.

We support developers in their placemaking ambitions – not just constructing buildings, but creating communities for people to thrive.

Apprenticeships

We believe in supporting our staff through every stage of their development and pride ourselves on recruiting apprentices to support their career under our guidance.

RTT is proud that we have apprentices that have recently completed their course and taken the next step in their career with us. Our goal is to continue offering apprenticeships in the future, providing young people and career changers with the chance to learn, grow, and build rewarding futures within the industry.

Russell Timber Technology is pleased to support future talent in the industry through all the practical work and experience that is offered by Modern Apprenticeships with Rewards Training Scotland and Skills Development Scotland.
