Scotland has set a target to become Net Zero by 2045. To achieve this, it will take action from everyone in society - including businesses in the manufacturing and construction industry.

Our commitment to Net Zero

We’re currently working through a Net Zero project – calculating our carbon calculations, devising our Roadmap to Net Zero, and working on energy efficiency and carbon reduction.

We’re taking significant steps to reduce our carbon footprint by:

  • Reviewing our waste policy
  • Using solar-powered production facilities
  • Looking at reduction, reuse, recycle then responsible waste disposal
  • Re-fitting our factory roof with a view to installing solar power
  • Embarking on a project across the company looking at carbon reduction, sustainability and energy efficiency, including staff education and wider business reductions

Sustainable Innovations

Our products themselves offer a sustainable solution for building façades – but on a project basis, our suggestions for sustainability innovations are to:

  • Review all local waste disposal and look for local recycling/reuse opportunities
  • Support the local area on sustainability
  • Maintain our commitment to process improvement within design innovation and actively design out and reduce waste, and factor in sustainable practices

Working together with our supply chain

We’ve requested that our supply chain report on their own steps taken to reduce their environmental impact, within our wider Net Zero project. We’re working with them to get required carbon data and to collectively share information to reduce environmental impact. As part of signing up with RTT they commit to an ongoing requirement to actively reduce their carbon output and environmental impact.

Sustainable, fully certified timber

Our complete range uses timber from managed forests with Full Chain of Custody certified to FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) and PEFC™ (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest) standards.
